26th October 2011 The second Wycombe Business Expo takes place on Friday 28th October at the fabulous Cressex Community School, High Wycombe. Wycombe Business Expo is the leading B2B event taking place in Wycombe District which includes Princes Risborough, High Wycombe, Marlow, Bourne End and Flackwell Heath. The focus is again on encouraging the 'business conversation' rather than the 'hard sell'. People sell to people and the Expo aims to provide the environment to create long-term business relationships between local businesses. Organised by volunteers this not-for-profit event was brought to life by 3 local real life entrepreneurs: Jenny Barnes, Elton Boocock and Hilda Stearn. At the outset there was no budget or venue however that did not deter the team! Vision, belief and passion ensured that a sponsor – Wycombe District Council - and the perfect venue: a business & enterprise school – were found. This year Wycombe DC continues to support the event and Buckinghamshire Business First is the key sponsor. Michael Garvey, Vice-chairman, Buckinghamshire Business First says: "Buckinghamshire Business First is delighted to be the principal sponsor of Wycombe Business Expo; now in its second year. Supporting businesses and providing the right environment for jobs to be created is a key role for BBF and vital for the future prosperity of the county. The Expo provides an opportunity to showcase successful businesses based in Wycombe District and allows BBF to demonstrate its commitment and support for companies in the Entrepreneurial Heart of Britain". Local MPs Steve Baker and Dominic Grieve will be VIP guests this Friday meeting companies to discuss key local business issues and the event is kick-started by well-known entrepreneur, Mary Flavelle. Other guests include: John Walker, FSB National Chairman; James Elles, MEP and Russell Price, chairman Continuity Forum. Entry to the Expo is free for visitors. Door open at 9.30am. Bucks Business First supports the Expo “We are honoured to be the first major event in Wycombe District to be supported by the recently created BBF. It is a great example of two organisations committed to supporting entrepreneurs working in partnership”, says Elton Boocock, a founding member of Wycombe Business Expo. “Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF) is delighted to be sponsoring the Wycombe Business Expo. BBF is a newly formed business organisation that has a vision for the county to be a place where businesses thrive and contribute to prosperous local communities. Wycombe Business expo is just the sort of event that we want to support and be associated with, given its focus on the local SME sector and the diversity of businesses that attended the inaugural event last year.” Michael Garvey, Co-Vice Chair, BBF.
